| Project Overview | Benesse Corporation has been holding a Business Model Analysis Competition for university students since 2021. Zukai Soken was involved only in lectures in the first year, and in both lectures and judging in the second and third years. In 2024, in order to more effectively evaluate student proposals, Zukai Soken proposed improvements to the application format, creating a format that clearly distinguishes between proposals before and after analysis. |

About This Project
We created the application format and conducted judging for the Business Model Analysis Competition for university students organized by Benesse Corporation!
Zukai Soken has been involved in the Business Model Analysis Competition since 2021, providing lectures based on the books "Business Model 2.0 Zukan" and "Kaikei no Chizu," and judging student submissions. In this fourth year of our involvement, we reviewed and created a new "application format" for students to submit.
The new application format was designed to clearly separate the "analysis" and "improvement" aspects, showing the Before & After of how a target business is analyzed and improved. This format makes it easier to understand the differences between the original business and the improved proposal after analysis.
In addition to the left-right two-part structure, we also considered what minimum information was necessary for analyzing and improving a business, and organized it into seven categories. Specifically, these categories included business overview, customers and challenges, paradoxical structure, business model diagram, market size, competitor analysis, and hypotheses/conclusions. By dividing it into these categories, we devised a way for students to naturally consider the essential elements for understanding a business.
