Overview
Kadai is a web application that supports municipalities, businesses, and NPOs in solving challenges. It visualizes the structure of complex issues, gathers feedback from the field, formulates solutions, and manages progress—supporting the entire problem-solving process within a single tool.
Regional, societal, and organizational challenges rarely exist in isolation. One challenge often leads to another, which in turn leads to further problems. For example, "bus routes are reduced" → "transportation deserts become more severe" → "shopping environments worsen" → "the health of the elderly deteriorates." Challenges are complexly intertwined, making it difficult to know where to start. This is the reality many municipalities, businesses, and regions face.
Therefore, Zukai Soken has systematized its expertise in "structurally visualizing challenges," cultivated through numerous projects to date.
Background of Development
Kadai was born from the question: to what extent can the tacit knowledge of challenge visualization, cultivated by Zukai Soken through its past projects, be reproduced as a tool?
Zukai Soken has collaborated with foundations and various stakeholders to create numerous "Challenge Maps," which depict regional and social challenges as a single picture connected by causal relationships. We identify challenges through workshops with residents and experts, then consolidate and structure them. We link challenges with solutions and connect them to small, resident-led experiments (micro-projects).
The expertise accumulated through this series of processes is condensed in Kadai.
Currently, it is in the prototype stage, undergoing daily updates through an experimental development method that relies solely on dialogue with generative AI. We will announce the official release separately.
